About QR codes
- A static QR code encodes the data itself (a URL, a Wi-Fi password) and works forever. If you want to change the destination later without reprinting, encode a SplitHub short link and edit its destinations in the dashboard.
- M (15%) is right for most print. Use H (30%) when you put a logo in the middle or expect the code to be scuffed; it makes the code denser.
- SVG scales to any size for print and design tools. PNG is for documents, slides and chat. Both are generated in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
- A QR code itself cannot be tracked. Encode a short link with UTM parameters, or a SplitHub link, and you get click counts, countries and devices.
