Short links

Weighted and targeted destinations, sticky choice, UTM pass-through, click stats, QR codes.

Every cloud project has short links at https://sh2.uk/<code>, for example https://sh2.uk/launch. The code sits directly after the domain, without an /l/ prefix. Use the short URL shown in the dashboard when sharing a link or creating a QR code.

A link has one or more destinations, each with a weight and optional country and device rules. They are useful for campaigns, for QR codes, and for testing landing pages on sites where you cannot install anything.

Destinations

{ "destinations": [
  { "url": "https://example.com/",       "weight": 50, "label": "current" },
  { "url": "https://example.com/start",  "weight": 50, "label": "new landing" },
  { "url": "https://example.com/de", "weight": 100, "countries": ["DE", "AT", "CH"] },
  { "url": "https://m.example.com/",     "weight": 100, "devices": ["mobile"] }
] }

Matching targeted destinations take priority and are chosen by weight. When none match, the link uses the untargeted destinations. A cookie makes the choice sticky, so a visitor who returns lands on the same page. UTM parameters and any other query string on the short link are forwarded unless the destination already defines the same parameter.

Stats

Total clicks, unique visitors, daily clicks, and breakdowns by destination, country, device and referrer.

QR codes

Each link has a QR code in the dashboard with a PNG download. For colors, a logo and other payload types use the QR code generator with the short URL.

Two weighted destinations are a redirect test without the SDK or the script. The dashboard shows the split and the clicks; to judge conversions you need a goal on the destination pages, which is what a redirect experiment with the drop-in script gives you. The "Create experiment and its link" option creates the experiment and opens a prefilled link form for you to save. Short-link clicks alone are not experiment exposures; install experiment tracking on the destination site to measure conversions.

Redirect behavior

The public redirect is GET https://sh2.uk/<code> and answers 302. The API-host route GET https://go.splithub.io/l/<code> also remains supported, but the dashboard uses the shorter sh2.uk URL. Unknown links return 404; paused links and links that have reached their click limit return 410.
